POSCO Engineering & Construction wins Ilsan's first remodeling project, 'Munchon Village 16 Complex.
POSCO Engineering & Construction was selected as the contractor for the Ilsan Muncheon Village 16 Complex remodeling project at the contractor selection meeting held on the 27th.
The Muncheon Village 16 Complex, located in Juyeop-dong, Ilsan-seo, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, was built in 1994 and is now 28 years old.
It is the first remodeling project to be carried out in one of the first-generation new towns of Ilsan.
The plan is to remodel the 956 existing units into 1,099 units through horizontal and separate building expansions.
143 newly built units will be available for general sale. The construction cost is estimated to be approximately 400 billion KRW.

POSCO Engineering & Construction proposed various specialized designs for the Muncheon Village 16 Complex. Notably, the company installed a Steel Art Wall using its proprietary POSMAC steel plate and designed the exterior with curtain walls and grand twin gates to create a majestic look.
The existing above-ground parking area will be transformed into six themed gardens, turning it into a park. The underground parking, originally one level, will be expanded to three levels, providing approximately 1.4 parking spaces per unit, greatly enhancing parking convenience for residents.
In addition, POSCO Engineering & Construction plans to introduce a sky community, the first of its kind in Ilsan, and an eco-friendly sunken community designed to maximize natural light and ventilation, differentiating it from surrounding complexes and transforming it into a landmark in Ilsan.
A POSCO Engineering & Construction representative stated, "With the full support of the residents, we will pour all our accumulated expertise and experience into making the first-ever remodeling complex in Ilsan the city's finest luxury complex."
Meanwhile, POSCO Engineering & Construction, which has had a dedicated remodeling department since 2014, established a new task force this year to focus on first-generation new town projects. With successful bids for projects like Seongbok Station River Park Apartments (2.385 billion won), Pyeongchon HanGaram Shinra Apartments (3.256 billion won), and Yeongtong Byeokjeokgol Jugong 8 Complex (5.249 billion won), POSCO has exceeded 1.5 trillion won in cumulative remodeling contract values as of August, maintaining its number one ranking in the remodeling sector.
