Uijeongbu LaGuardia Residential Development Project

Link City PFV's "Uijeongbu LaGuardia Residential Development Project" in Gyeonggi Province wins the Environmental Friendliness Award at the 2023 First Half Hankyung Residential Culture Awards.
The project, a "public-interest return new-sale apartment" with a park and public office building alongside the residential complex, received high praise for its eco-friendly design and the comfortable living environment it offers in the urban area.
The complex will be developed in Uijeongbu-dong, Uijeongbu City, with 3 underground floors and 48 above-ground floors, consisting of 6 buildings and 1,401 units. The apartments will be offered in large sizes, mainly 84㎡ and 112㎡. The apartment sales are expected in the second half of the year.
As the development is situated in an urban redevelopment area, the project is expected to reshape the skyline of Uijeongbu City. Additionally, a cultural and sports park, covering about 30,000㎡, will be built alongside the development. POSCO E&C is the contractor for the construction.
The site for the complex is the former Camp LaGuardia, where U.S. military forces were stationed after the outbreak of the Korean War. The site was returned under the Korea-U.S. Land Partnership Plan (LPP) in 2007. Uijeongbu City developed part of the area into a sports park, but there was significant demand for development of the remaining land. As a result, the urban development project, which relocated the sports park and transformed the area into a residential zone, began in 2019.
The complex is located in a prime area of Uijeongbu City and is adjacent to Uijeongbu Station on Seoul Metro Line 1. It is also close to Heungseon Station on the Uijeongbu Light Rail, making it a double station zone. Surrounding the complex are Shinsegae Department Store, CGV, Jeil Market, and the Rodeo shopping district, providing convenience for residents. The area is also near Uijeongbu Seocho and Daon Middle School, as well as major education hubs such as Uijeongbu Middle School, Uijeongbu Girls’ Middle/High School, and many private academies.
The large-scale development in the heart of Uijeongbu City has also garnered attention. The GTX-C (Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railway) line will be constructed near the complex, and the extension of Seoul Metro Line 7 (from Dobongsan to Okjeong) is also planned, which will improve transportation conditions in the future.
The progress of the GTX-C line is expected to accelerate, as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport announced at a meeting in May that construction will begin within the year. Once the line is completed, travel time from Uijeongbu in Gyeonggi Province to Samsung Station in Seoul, which currently takes about 65 minutes by subway, will be reduced to around 16 minutes, greatly improving accessibility to Seoul.
